West Ham struggled for consistency in front of goal this season and were overly reliant on club-record signing Marko Arnautovic.
The Hammers saw summer recruit Javier Hernandez fail to find his feet back in the Premier League and it’s widely reported that Manuel Pellegrini will look to bolster his attacking ranks.
Reports have claimed that West Brom striker Salomon Rondon, poised to leave the Baggies after their relegation to the Championship, is being eyed for a union by Pellegrini after playing for the Chilean boss at Malaga.
However, Sky Sports state that West Ham will have serious competition in the market for the Venezuela international as Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are both monitoring the situation.
Rondon is said to have a £16m release-clause in his contract that has been activated following West Brom’s relegation and the two European giants would have no problem matching that figure.
Both Atletico and Inter can both offer Champions League football next term, which is another blow for West Ham.
