The transfer window may have shut but it has not brought the end to speculation concerning West Ham.

In Europe, the transfer window does not close until the end of the month and English sides outside of the Premier League can also negotiate loan deals until the end of August.

Championship outfit Aston Villa are keen to take advantage of that situation, with The Daily Star stating Steve Bruce continues to eye Robert Snodgrass.

The Scotland international impressed during his time on loan at Villa Park last season and the promotion hopefuls want to bring him back to the club.

Snodgrass impressed new boss Manuel Pellegrini in West Ham’s pre-season campaign but he faces a stern battle for regular action in the Hammers, facing competition from new signings Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko.

Michail Antonio has also remained in east London and featured in the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, which suggests he also lies ahead of Snodgrass in the pecking order.
