Much has been made of Winston Reid’s Upton Park future in recent months.

He has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle and even Everton, while Sam Allardyce has admitted that Reid has no future at the club and doesn’t expect him to sign a new deal.

With his contract up at the end of the season, many have been calling for the club to just sell him this month in order to get some money for him. That doesn’t look like it’s going to happen, not unless we manage to get a worthwhile replacement for him beforehand. Ideally we’d like him to sign a new deal, but that doesn’t look likely either.

Nevertheless, regardless of what Allardyce has said recently, the whole episode has been as secretive as ever before. Reid hadn’t commented on his future and no one really knew what to expect.

Until now. The New Zealand international has written a column for Fanbookz and has shed some light on what the future might hold for him, even though he pretty much fails to shed any light on anything at all.

In short, he’s admitted he hasn’t made up his mind about what he wants to do about his future but will continue to give everything for West Ham regardless. Suppose you can’t say fairer than that.
