Since the founding of the Premier league in 1992, there have been many midfielders to pull on the famous Claret and Blue shirt for West Ham United.

Some top class players, some average players, and some players which were quite simply, awful.

With West Ham fans often looking for attacking, offensive style football, the midfield area is a key part of a successful team. Fans like to see players giving it their all. Wayward passing and lack of effort for the badge is quite simply, not good enough.

While some of our past and present midfielders have pace and flair and a trick or two up their sleeve, others are more appreciated for keeping things simple, retaining possession and finding that killer pass.

As fans we have no say on who we should sign or who we should get rid of. We only get our say from the terraces in the form of cheers, chants, groans and boos.

Here I try to find the best West Ham midfielders who would appear on my top 30 list since the Premier league began.
