Allardyce swipes at West Ham fans with London Stadium comments

Sam Allardyce isn’t the most popular former West Ham boss around and his latest comments haven’t helped him with his standing amongst supporters.
Now in charge of Everton, the former England boss has helped guide the Toffees to a mid-table position but, like David Moyes at West Ham, has only achieved par for the course.
Nevertheless, Allardyce looks poised to remain in charge at Goodison Park and has answered questions related to the club’s plans for a new stadium – taking a swipe at West Ham in the process.
West Ham’s move from Upton Park to the London Stadium has proven to be very unpopular with supporters but Allardyce has suggested this is purely due to the club’s struggles, stating fans wouldn’t have an issue if the club was successful.
Quoted by Football.London, Allardyce said:
“I think with West Ham if they had a winning team and were competing with the top six or seven, then certainly for West Ham their stadium wouldn’t matter.”
While it’s no secret that West Ham have failed to remain competitive since moving to their new home, the suggestion that the issue is purely down to those struggles shows that Allardyce never truly had a connection to the Hammers faithful.
