Ever since we enjoy our best ever start to a Premier League campaign fans have been debating who should be crowned Hammer of the Year this season.
Aaron Cresswell, Adrian, Diafra Sakho, Alex Song and Cheikhou Kouyate are the names that have been mentioned the most, with the former two seemingly ending up the two front runners for the award.
And at tonight’s much-hyped awards evening in Park Lane, it was Aaron Cresswell who deservedly bagged the famous Hammer of the Year award, as voted for by the fans.
Aaron Cresswell arrived at the club as something of an unknown quantity from Ipswich Town last summer, but has gone on to play every single second of Premier League football so far this season, putting in top class performances every week to announce himself as a Premier League player in style – and he’s even chipped in with a couple of goals, too.
Cresswell also won Signing of the Season and Players’ Player of the Year to cap a hat-trick of awards on the night.
The award was thoroughly deserved and we all look forward to seeing Aaron Cresswell playing in the famous claret and blue next season and, of course, in our new home come August 2016.
Here are the best tweets as Cressy was named 2014/2015 Hammer of the Year…
