So the club have announced they expect to announce the appointment of a new manager within 48 hours.

It’s widely believed that Slaven Bilic is the chosen one, while there’s still an outside chance it is Marseille’s Marcelo Bielsa.

The very trusted @ExWHUemployee suggested this morning that the club were also keen to talk to Borussia Mönchengladbach manager Lucien Favre.

If you’re wondering who on earth he is then please do Google his name, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

If you can’t be bothered then I’ll sum it up for you – he’s the man everyone thinks should be the man to replace Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.

@ExWHUemployee did say that Favre would no doubt prefer to stay in Germany, but the club have made contact.

Many fans will have simply brushed it all off as a non-story, and it probably is.

But it seems a bit weird that Favre has suddenly risen to the third favourite for the job with the bookies, shortly after the club announced their intention to name their man in the near future…

It’s probably nothing. But maybe it isn’t. Who knows anymore?
