Well, what a superb end to a superb transfer window.

Eleven new faces have joined the squad over the course of the summer, with four of them coming in the final 12 hours of the window.

Today’s deals for Alex Song, Victor Moses, Nikica Jelavic and Michail Antonio have capped off a transfer window that hasn’t seen a single player come in who hasn’t strengthened the squad in one way or another.

We’ve already seen the likes of Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini, Angelo Ogbonna and Pedro Obiang impress hugely during the opening few weeks of the season, and now we can look forward to four more exciting players at the club.

One thing that has become clear now that the summer transfer window has closed is the strength in depth we have and, essentially, the number of tactical options we have.

Our home losses to Leicester and Bournemouth were chiefly blamed on a lack of width, which we now have with Antonio and Moses in the side, while their pace will also favour his preference of playing a counter attacking style away from home.

So below are three different line-ups/tactics Slaven Bilic will no doubt opt to deploy this season, with some evidence of our strength in depth in all areas. That’s also proven by the fact we haven’t even used newbie Nikica Jelavic, Manuel Lanzini and Mauro Zarate in the formations below.

If you’re not excited about the remainder of the season you really, really should be…

All of the above are very strong line ups capable of doing damage to any Premier League outfit. It’s perhaps too early to get carried about, but our final season at the Boleyn Ground could well bring the success it deserves after all.
