After months of speculation, Winston Reid has finally signed a new contract at the club.
It’s a six-and-a-half year deal that will keep him at the club until 2021, well in to his thirties, and ensures he’s going to be a vital fixture in the club’s new era at the Olympic Stadium.
Reports over the last few months have had Reid moving to all kinds of top clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United. Tottenham were also rumoured to be interested, although many would say they were being a bit ambitious in their interest.
Still, Reid remains a West Ham player and we can all look forward to seeing him turn out in the famous Claret and Blue for many years to come.
And, obviously, West Ham fans on Twitter were delighted to hear the news. And Reid himself lifted the lid on why he signed the deal and what made his mind up.
