Given Liverpool‘s sheer brilliance this season, and the fact that all they have to do is win all their remaining games to lift the Premier League trophy, you have to wonder what kind of hiding we’re in for this afternoon.
We’ve managed to reclaim some decent form, even if it is via an ugly brand of football, and our home record is improving in comparison to earlier in the campaign.
But when the likes of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge are coming to town, form kind of goes out of the window and you can expect them to be at their very best.
It might well be a busy afternoon for Adrian and his defence, but it should be a back four capable of givng Liverpool’s strike force a difficult afternoon. Pablo Armero is expected to replace the injured George McCartney for his first start for the club.
It’ll be nice to see Mo Diame brought in to his more familiar role in the middle of the park to do battle with Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson, with Matt Jarvis and Stewart Downing occupying both flanks.
Up front, we can count on the big man Andy Carroll to stick one or two in the onion bag against his former club. Perhaps he and Downing can link up perfectly to damage Liverpool’s title bid?
