So the wait is almost over.

Umbro have announced their intention to reveal our new home shirt for this season tomorrow, and it’s already very clear that it will be a commemorative design to honour our final season at the Boleyn Ground.

After dozens of different mock-ups have done the rounds over the last few months, we’re now just hours away from learning it’s true identity and, if Umbro’s tweet above and the club’s official shirt is anything to go by, the design will be a throwback to the first shirt we ever wore at the Boleyn Ground in 1904.

This description of the home shirt can be found on the official site…

The hoop around the neck is interesting, but it’s the commemorative gold crest that is an interesting feature.

West Ham’s homeshirt in 1904 looked like this…

Which means our home shirt ‘could’ look a little like this…

I quite like the look of that. How about you? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

  1. Adidas = 4 mil over 2 year… Umbro = 20mil over 5 years. I’m no maths genius, but… 😉

  2. Lets just wait and see, we will know tomorrow, I really hope Umbro put some effort into this short and training gear, plastic badges etc which quickly come off is not good enough for £50 plus!

Carroll 47% say sell so far, fully agree! good he tells us again (as Andy always does in media, that he is working hard to be fit for first game) I think he should have perhaps some Europe starts and then sell ASAP! We need a better striker who will keep fit, and not spend his time more with media releases!

  3. If this is indeed it then I’m a bit underwhelmed if I’m honest. Looks more like a villa strip than one of ours.
Then again I still don’t understand why we aren’t still with Adidas? Quality kit manufacturers!

But at the end of the day it won’t matter what it looks like because like myself millions of WHUFC fans will buy it regardless. And will be more than happy to do so. COYI!
