West Ham boss Slaven Bilic brought himself some breathing room with Saturday’s victory over Swansea City but the pressure on the Croatian manager continues to mount.
Bilic enters the final 12 months of his contract with the Hammers this summer and has not been offered an extension, despite claims from the board in January that he would be handed fresh terms.
With West Ham’s poor season, many expect that Bilic will be replaced this summer and a surprise contender for any opening at the London Stadium has emerged.
Sky Sports reports West Ham will target Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic this summer if Bilic leaves his position in East London, in an appointment which wouldn’t stand out as an exceptional appointment.
Fulham have improved significantly following Jokanovic’s appointment in 2015, with the Cottagers avoiding relegation by just a single point during his first season in charge before pushing for a play-off spot this campaign.
As things stand, Fulham are currently two points off Sheffield Wednesday in the final play-off spot and it would take a huge run of form for the Cottagers to earn promotion.
Jokanovic joins a long-list of potential replacements for Bilic that have been raised by the press and when compared to the likes of Roberto Mancini and Rafael Benitez, he doesn’t look up to scratch.
