After a long wait to see our new umbro home shirt, attentions have turned to what our new away shirt will look like.

There we scores of different mock-ups for flying around for the home shirt before the official announcement, but there hasn’t been many designs for the away strip.

Until now, that is. A West Ham fan Twitter account tweet an picture of what looks to be a leaked image of a sky blue umbro away shirt, with the traditional claret stripe across the front.

It’s perhaps a long way off from our normally traditional away strip, but it does have a similar feel to it.

Have a look below and decide for yourself. Nice? Awful? I can’t make my mind up with this one…

  1. Hi mate,
If that’s the case then I would be delighted. This has always been my favourite away strip.

Having said that, if the picture above was to be that of the new away strip, I wouldn’t be disappointed.

  2. A shirt described like this was used by West Ham during the early years of last century at least once when light blue was the norm for the club and a red/claret stripe referred to the first of that type known I think. So who knows but not reminisent of the more recent ‘traditional’ away design with two stripes which perhaps most fans would prefer. That said if you want to hark back to your origins rather than the 50s/60s version of history then it makes sense.

  3. The new away shirt is sky blue with two claret bands like the one used between 1962 and 1974
