If reports on Goal are to be believed, West Ham are amongst a number of clubs looking at Borussia Dortmund striker Julian Schieber.

The 25-year-old is out of favour at Dortmund after registering just one goal in 20 Bundesliga appearances last term, having struggled to keep Robert Lewandowski out of the team.

And now it’s being reported that we have joined Celtic and Wigan in the race for the striker, who admitted back in January that he was growing increasingly frustrated with life in Germany.

Sam Allardyce will be in the market for another striker, despite adding Mauro Zarate to the squad last week, and Schieber could be an affordable option compared to other strikers we have been linked with, including £19m-rated Swansea forward Wilfried Bony.
