West Ham completed a fantastic summer of transfer business with the £7million addition of Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio on Tuesday.

The Wandsworth-born 25-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise from non-league football to the Premier League, having started his career with Tooting & Mitcham United in 2007.

Since then he has enjoyed spells with Reading, Cheltenham Town, Southampton, Colchester United and Sheffield Wednesday, before finally hitting the big time with the Hammers following an impressive season with Forest in the Championship last term.

And after completing his move to the best team in London, Antonio took to Twitter to express his delight at signing for the club and thanked the Boleyn Ground faithful for the warm welcome they have given him since he signed on the dotted line on Tuesday afternoon.

He can’t wait to get started and we can’t wait to see him in action. That Monday night home meeting with Newcastle in two weeks’ time can’t come quick enough, can it?
