We’re desperately waiting for Dimitri Payet to return to the starting XI this season.

After an extended break following Euro 2016 and then a niggling injury, we’ve only been limited to about 30 minutes of Payet in claret and blue so far this term.

But he is expected to return to Slaven Bilic’s starting XI against Watford on Saturday and hopefully he will spark an improvement to our performances following an underwhelming and frustrating start to 2016/2017.

It’s still incredible that we managed to keep hold of Dimi beyond the summer transfer window, and David Gold and David Sullivan deserve a lot of credit for ensuring he wasn’t allowed to leave.

And Gold is continuing to Hammer home to the rest of the world on Twitter that Payet remains a West Ham player, as he tweeted some impressive crossing stats from Premier League players so far in 2016…

Unsurprisingly, Payet is top of the bunch with 68 accurate crosses in this calendar year so far, 17 ahead of his nearest rival – Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil

Chelsea’s Willian is well behind with just 37 while Spurs’ Christian Eriksen and West Brom’s James McClean are tied in fourth with only 32.

Perhaps that settles the Payet/Ozil debate once and for all?
