West Ham target Keisuke Honda is expected to stay put at AC Milan this January, as reported by London24.

The Japan international has been repeatedly linked with a move to east London since the summer, with a loan deal until the end of the season being touted.

However, London24 claim Milan News are reporting that Honda is no longer available to leave AC Milan – despite Kevin Prince Boateng set to sign for the the Serie A giants after his contract at Schalke was cancelled, which would have provided further competition for places at the club.

It was initially believed Honda was growing more and more disillusioned with his situation in Italy, and was open to finding a new club that can offer him regular first team opportunities.

However, it appears his situation has now changed and AC Milan still see him as an important member of the team.

Honda is predominantly a right winger, but is also capable of playing on the left or in the number 10 role.

Transfermarkt.co.uk value the midfielder at £6.3m.
